Genetic Program Design
As each producer recognizes the specific needs within their herd, a customized genetic program can be designed to successfully utilize the best options available from PIC. These options include both terminal and maternal semen products, as well as PIC female breeding stock. The design of genetic programs are only applicable for contracted customers.
PICTraq
To support world-class In-House Multiplication, we offer L03 animals and provide guidance on in-house replacement strategies for producers who wish to close their herd to external animal introductions. A key tool in our genetic program is PICTraq, PIC's global genetic database, which stores individual pig production data and converts it into a comprehensive index for each animal. This index enables comparisons between animals based on their performance and that of their genetically related peers. PICTraq is the driving force behind PIC's genetic engine, facilitating the rapid adoption of emerging technologies and the development of tools to manage genetic lag. The ultimate goal is to deliver a positive impact on our customers' systems. Approved contracted customers can access this valuable database, allowing them to run a fully indexed and connected genetic program that is directly linked to PIC's global genetic engine.
Benchmarking
At PIC, we offer a valuable benchmarking service to our contracted customers, providing them with insights into their reproduction and wean-to-finish data. This service allows farmers to see how their operation compares to others in the industry, and to understand the potential of our genetics in their specific production environment. To participate in the benchmarking service, customers simply provide us with their data, which is then analyzed anonymously to ensure confidentiality. This data is used to generate quarterly benchmarks, which provide a comprehensive picture of industry performance and trends. Every participant in the benchmarking service receives a detailed report and analysis of their data, which includes comparisons to industry averages and benchmarks. This information enables farmers to identify areas for improvement, optimize their production practices, and make informed decisions about their genetics and breeding programs. By participating in our benchmarking service, farmers can gain a deeper understanding of what our genetics can achieve in their specific operation, and how they can maximize their potential. This service is an important part of our commitment to supporting our customers.
Training
At PIC, we are committed to supporting our customers in achieving optimal farming practices. To this end, we provide contracted customers with on-farm, specialized training that is tailored to their specific farming environment. We recognize that every farm is unique, and there is no "one size fits all" approach to farming. However, one constant that remains across all our customers is the high-quality genetics that PIC provides.
Our on-farm training programs are designed to empower managers and supervisors with the knowledge and skills they need to
maximize the genetic potential of their animals. The training covers a range of topics, including:

In addition to our on-farm training, we also offer online courses throughout the year that can be accessed from the comfort of the piggery office or home, depending on internet availability.
